Why Does the Moon Shine on Everyone But Me
Why Does the Moon Shine on Everyone But Me Plot:
Antique restorer Su Wan has guarded her grandfather's Song Dynasty moon-patterned porcelain vase for ten years, which hides his unspoken love for 'Mingyue'—the regret of his life. Until Lu Zhao, an auction house appraiser, comes to buy the vase to cover his company's losses. They clash fiercely but gradually connect: Lu Zhao's grandmother is the 'Mingyue' from the past, now in late-stage Alzheimer's, only remembering 'waiting for someone to watch the moon with.' When Su Wan restores the vase, she finds a postscript from her grandfather: 'I went that day, hiding behind the osmanthus tree.' Meanwhile, Lu Zhao finds a note in his grandmother's dressing box: 'I waited for you with a lantern, but didn't see you.' Their grandparents' miss was a misunderstanding, but Lu Zhao decides to leave due to the company's bankruptcy. On Mid-Autumn Night, Su Wan waits for the moon with the vase in the old alley—Lu Zhao suddenly appears, holding his grandmother's lantern: 'I quit my job. This time, we'll wait together—The moon will shine on us.'
