The Four Sisters in 1980s Plot:

In a Shanghai lane of the 1980s, the four Lin sisters each face their own hurdles——The eldest, Lin Wan, is reborn and tries to win back her firefighter boyfriend whom she lost in her previous life due to stubbornness, only to find he’s already married a “replacement”; The second sister, Lin Xia, earns her first pot of gold by selling electronic watches but clashes with a rough mechanic over a night market stall, only to fall for him amid their bickering; The third sister, Lin Qiu, quits her stable job to study fashion design and her “unblessed” relationship with a wandering painter is gossiped about as “immoral” by neighbors; The youngest, Lin Dong, skips school rebelliously and steps on her scholar neighbor’s glasses while helping Lin Xia tend the stall, only to be “blackmailed” into being a “free童工” (child labor).
