The Cicada Knows Not Summer
The Cicada Knows Not Summer Plot:
After Lin Xia's sister died in an "accidental" drowning, her brother-in-law Zhou Mingyu quickly seized the family property and even put their 7-year-old niece Xiaotang under surveillance. Until Xiaotang painted *Mom in the Water*—in which her sister wore a broken necklace only Lin Xia knew, and an autumn cicada crawled on the boat's side in the background. Lin Xia sensed something was wrong, but Zhou Mingyu threatened to take away Xiaotang's custody to silence her. Then Song Yichen, a lawyer once harmed by Zhou Mingyu, appeared. Together, they dug into the painting's details and uncovered Zhou Mingyu's plot: he'd owed huge gambling debts, designed the drowning to forge a will, and hid a USB drive with criminal recordings in an autumn cicada pendant—secretly given to Xiaotang by her mom. When the truth came out, the cicada in Xiaotang's painting finally "voiced" her mother's injustice.
