No More Reunions Plot:

The day Grandma's old yard was to be demolished, Lin Xiaoman found a yellowed diary—turns out Grandma had been waiting under the old locust tree at the gate every year for her daughter, who'd been gone for two decades (Xiaoman's mom). But Mom died in a car accident ten years ago. To keep Grandma from despair, Xiaoman had been forging Mom's “busy with work” letters every year. Now Grandma was gone. As the old locust tree was cut down, Xiaoman pulled Mom's childhood doll from the hollow, along with Grandma's last words: “I know you won't come, but I still want to wait.” The scent of locust flowers drifted in the wind, like Grandma's porridge, but this time, no one was waiting for them to come home anymore.
