The Stars Shine for No One Plot:

Lin Xiaoman, the night watcher of an old observatory, writes "star letters" to her missing astronomer father every night, believing he went to chase stars. Lu Xingyao, a down-and-out sci-fi writer, breaks in for inspiration and always ruins her fairy tale with "stars are just burning celestial bodies." However, he accidentally discovers—her father is the "Star Chaser" he admired years ago, while he himself has long abandoned his dream of writing about stars due to reality. When they fix the dusty telescope and finally see a meteor in the early morning, Xiaoman cries, "Dad, I caught your star!" Lu Xingyao hands her a cup of hot cocoa and whispers, "We caught it together." It turns out the answer to "the stars shine for no one" is—those who hold on for the stars will eventually become each other's light.
