Two 'Nian An's, Half a Lifetime of Waiting Plot:

As a child, Lin Shen lost his parents in a fire and stopped speaking. Until Nian An, a chatty girl, moved into the alley—she gave him oranges daily, saying "the pith is a star's tail"; brought stray cats, shouting "their paws look like your pencil tip". One day, Nian An cried she was moving. Lin Shen suddenly yelled "Nian An"—his first word in three years. But the train separated them. Twenty years later, Lin Shen became a "silent composer" whose music echoed the alley's wind. Until he saw "Nian An's Grocery Store", where a woman squatted feeding a cat, nagging "eat the dried fish slowly". Lin Shen stood in the shade: "Nian An, I'm here." His first word was "Nian An"; the second—he waited twenty years for it.
