Northeast Era: My Grilled Kidney 2
Northeast Era: My Grilled Kidney 2 Plot:
In the late 1990s, at an old alley in Northeast China, Pi Desheng, who has grilled lamb kidneys for ten years, and his childhood friend Ding Lei are barely making ends meet with their "Desheng BBQ Stall". However, the old town's demolition, chain BBQ shops stealing customers, and rising ingredient prices push them to the brink. Pi insists on the old rule of "fresh kidneys grilled on the spot", while Ding secretly buys frozen kidneys to make quick money—their argument breaks their friendship. Until Aunt Chen, a lonely elderly regular, is hospitalized and grabs Pi's hand, saying, "I just want one more bite of your grilled kidney, just like my late son used to make for me." The two finally realize: this grilled kidney is not just a business, but the "emotional root" of everyone in the old alley. They must fight with all their might to keep this warm "old Northeast flavor".
