One Family, No Two Ways Plot:

The Zhang family’s peace shatters when Grandma breaks her leg—eldest daughter-in-law Li Juan, a cash-strapped supermarket cashier, and younger daughter-in-law Wang Min, a profitable nail salon owner, feud over Grandma’s alimony: Li struggles to make ends meet, while Wang complains she’s “paying too much.” Their fight escalates from the kitchen to the village committee. Village Chief Liu Jianguo acts as a “peacemaker” but secretly accepts Wang’s gift cards to favor her. Just as the feud becomes a village-wide spectacle, Xiao Tang, Grandma’s granddaughter and a newly returned college-graduate village official, stumbles onto Liu’s scheme. Now, the family’s “shame” becomes a mirror for the whole village: They must settle the “money debt” of alimony and expose the “hidden agenda” of human nature.
