Rural Ghost Stories: The Purification Jar Plot:

Lin Xiaoman returns to a remote mountain village for her grandmother's funeral, only to be drawn into a series of mysterious disappearances—three villagers vanished without a trace at night, and the century-old "Purification Jar" in the ancestral hall has its seal torn to shreds. The elders wail that the "Soul-Eating Fiend," sealed for thirty years, has escaped. Skeptical, Xiaoman rummages through her grandmother's relics and finds a bloodstained half-diary: Grandma was the "Jar Guardian" who sealed the vengeful spirit of a trafficked girl with her own hands! That night, Xiaoman is jolted awake by the sharp sound of nails scraping the jar. In the ancestral hall, the jar oozes black blood, and Grandma's voice echoes from inside: "Don't open it... It's looking for me..." Just then, Uncle Zhou, whose daughter is missing, bursts in with a hoe, screaming to smash the jar—and Xiaoman just notices: the girl in the last page of the diary looks exactly like her as a child?!
