Lin Xiaoman, a white-collar worker, is in despair when her mother suffers a sudden heart attack. She waits three days for a top doctor's appointment but fails, and her mother's condition worsens at dawn while she's raising surgery fees. She rushes her to the ER, seeing it as a "last resort for the poor"—until she meets Chen Mo, a newly trained ER doctor.
