Nostalgic Tales of South Beijing Plot:

In the historic hutongs of Beijing's South City, young Lin Zao runs her family's traditional fermented soybean milk stall. She meets architect Chen Yan, who has returned to China to renovate a century-old local guild hall. A city renewal demolition dispute puts them at odds: Zao fights to preserve the hutongs' cozy old charm, while Chen pushes forward the urban renewal project. As they clash and slowly fall for each other, they uncover their fathers' half-century-old grudges and a hidden secret in the guild hall's walls. Now they must choose between their ancestral homeland and the tide of modernization amid the south city's evening breezes.
