Lin Mo, a poor recent graduate, rents the top-floor apartment in an old neighborhood to save rent. After being drenched in rain on moving-in night, he unexpectedly gains rare X-ray vision. Planning to use this “superpower” to get a rent discount, when he helps the landlady sort old items, he spots an old jade pendant on her neck—exactly the same as the one his late sister wore who went missing a decade ago! Lin Mo suppresses his shock, pretends to know nothing about this “coincidence”, cooperates with the landlady’s gentle tests while secretly investigating his sister’s disappearance, unaware that his X-ray vision holds a fatal secret that could change his fate.
