Retro Fortune: Starting with a Random Intelligence System
In the late 1980s, Lin Xiaoman, a rural girl desperate to save her terminally ill mother, accidentally binds to a "Random Intelligence System"—each day, a vague yet precise clue to make money. She sold Dacron cloth to earn her first pot of gold, only to be called a "speculator" by the village bully and advised to "stick to farming" by her childhood sweetheart. Until Gu Jingshen, a young man from the city, tracks the system's signal to her door—he came to expose the "scam", but witnesses Lin Xiaoman using the clue "Heavy rain tomorrow night, watermelons in the county will triple in price" to earn 500 yuan (equivalent to 50,000 yuan today) in one day. From confrontation to teaming up in business, Gu Jingshen shields her from malicious competition, while Lin Xiaoman teaches him to "listen to neighborhood chats at the village entrance for business opportunities". But when the system suddenly fails, Lin Xiaoman uncovers the truth: those "random clues" were "future hints" Gu Jingshen traded ten years of his life for in a past life, just to keep her alive. From a poor girl to "Sister Xiaoman" leading the village to prosperity, from mutual dislike to "you go, I'll follow" sweetness, this retro rags-to-riches story hides the most touching past-life twist.
