When he finally saved enough for her medicine, his missing sister Gu Xiaonian called for help: she'd been abducted to the "Hunger Corner" and would be sold for ten catties of rice. Torn, Gu Ye was shocked when Wen Wan lifted her quilt to reveal a military knife on her leg: "I was a special forces medic. I hid my skills when we dated, but now—husband, let's save our sister together!" The couple stormed the black market: Gu Ye knocked down ten thugs with his buff, Wen Wan used field first aid to save their sister, and they seized the traffickers' grain. Finally, the three returned home with rice. Gu Ye fed Wen Wan first, then their sister, smiling: "In this era, the best thing isn't having food—it's that all the people I love can eat the food I feed them."
